Official Records and Custody Contacts

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office holds Boulder County Jail intake and custody records for people transported to and incarcerated at the jail. Its Records Section also handles requests for an official adult arrest photo and older jail material. Contact the arresting police agency, rather than BCSO, for that agency’s investigative report.

The researched BCSO schedule lists an adult arrest photo at $5 and an investigative-report search at $5, including ten pages, with added pages at $0.25. Research or retrieval is $40 per staff hour. Large requests can require a 50 percent deposit, and card payments add $0.75 plus 2.25 percent. Do not prepay before the county invoices the request. Sheriff Records publishes no guaranteed routine completion time.

Choose the contact by record type and custody stage:

  • For a Boulder County mugshot, older booking record, current roster, or same-day jail report, use the official routes described on the home page and contact Sheriff Records when the item is not online.
  • For a warrant check, call Boulder County Courts or appear with photo identification at a police or Sheriff’s office. Wanted Fugitives explains the safe official process.
  • For a person just booked, search the daily booking report. For someone currently held, use the roster. For a recent or scheduled release, use the daily release view and verify changes with Booking.
  • For an investigative report, contact the police or law-enforcement agency that investigated the incident. Jail custody does not make BCSO the owner of every police case file.
  • For a state-sentenced prisoner, use the Colorado Department of Corrections offender locator or its official records-request route.
  • For federal sentenced custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator. For current ICE custody, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator. Neither is a Boulder County booking-photo gallery.
